The Latin Sound Of Pacha 2001 (1CD)

Few mixers know The Latin Sound of Pacha better than Kiko Navarro, born in Palma de Mallorca and resident at Pacha since its 1996 birth.

His 2001 mix for Tommy Boy is a great one, charting the increased grafting of swinging rhythms from Brazil and other Latino hot spots onto chunky danceable beats. Many of the tracks are indebted to another exuberant Latin dance fusion, the ’70s disco of Salsoul, but the list of productions range all over the world, including a remix by Dimitri from Paris of Japanese producer Yukihiro Fukutomi’s “Brazilia,” originally recorded by British post-punk band A Certain Ratio, and some classics.
